1 Peter: Did Jesus Go to Hell?  

My real concern is to understand 1 Peter, and the following paper is about that.  But I will start with a provocative question: Was Jesus in Hell between the?

This is not my question. It is a question we get from Church history. Taking a question and going and looking for an answer is not the best way to approach the Bible. The best questions seem to emerge as we read. No matter, the question has been put to us. The Apostle’s Creed says that Jesus “descended into hell.” So, did he?

My main point is an exposition of 1 Peter 3:13-22. I think 1 Peter is far more interesting than the question being asked. That means my little paper is far more about the book of 1 Peter than about the Apostle’s Creed. If you are interested in reading more, download the PDF paper:
